TANGLED THOUGHTS OF LEAVING have announced their maiden overseas tour, covering 15 dates across the UK & Europe in March & April.
The piano-driven progressive rock quartet have amassed a cult following worldwide since the 2011 release of their debut ‘Deaden The Fields. Their first visit to Europe will include a performance at Belgium’s Dunk Festival alongside Maserati (US), My Empty Phantom (US) and fellow Australians Heirs.
The band have toured Australia consistently over the past two years, including supports for 65daysofstatic (UK), Russian Circles (USA), sleepmakeswaves, Grails (USA), Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus and Boris (JPN). Before they head to Europe, TToL will be supporting THIS WILL DESTROY YOU (USA) on their first Australian tour.
TToL are currently promoting the release of their new EP ‘Failed by Man and Machine’ and will follow up with the release of their second album through Bird’s Robe Records in late 2013.

On Saturday March 2 2013, Tangled Thoughts of Leaving will launch a new EP at the Rosemount Hotel. Titled, ‘Failed by Man and Machine’, the new release features 18 minutes of epic new material. In typical TToL fashion, the EP covers a lot of sonic territory - there’s enough analog synth to kill a small krautrock band, the heaviest riff the band has recorded, a wild noise section with guest string players and beats so jagged that geometricians will likely suffer priapisms.
TToL will be joined at The Rosemount by instrumental three-piece Solkyri (NSW), on their maiden voyage to the west coast. Solkyri are on the verge of releasing their debut full-length, and possess an incredibly energetic live show. After sharing the stage in Sydney and Melbourne on recent tours, TToL are very excited to finally bring Solkyri to Perth.
Opening up festivities are local lads Antelope, one the most promising emerging acts in Perth.
This is the final TToL headline show in Perth before they head to Europe in late March, a tour which will take in the amazing Dunk! Festival in Belgium as well shows around the UK, Hungary, Romania and many more destinations.

2013 shapes as the biggest year yet for Tangled Thoughts of Leaving. After starting the year with a bang by supporting the UK’s 65daysofstatic and then recording/filming 2 hours worth of double-band improv material with Sydney’s sleepmakeswaves the very next day, things are about to get even wilder. March will see a new TToL EP release and in April the band will be taking their intense live show around Europe and the UK.
Before all this though, TToL will be unleashing an extended set in the intimate confines of YaYas on Saturday February 2. With jammed out material coming from TToL’s full back catalog, this will be an epic evening - no holding back to fit in shorter set times here! Limited to around 150 people - it will be first in, best dressed.

We’re very excited to announce that we will be performing at next year’s Dunk! Festival in Zottegem, Belgium.
The festival is held from March 29-31, 2013 and the lineup so far includes Maserati (US), My Empty Phantom (US), My Education (US), fellow Australians HEIRS and many more.
This will be the first date on our maiden tour of Europe - more dates and details will be announced soon.
We’ll also take this opportunity to announce that The Bird’s Robe Collective‘s Mike Solo (sleepmakeswaves, The Red Paintings, Pirate) is coming on board the management team alongside Revert Entertainment’s Bradley Lindsay. Solo will also look after publicity for the band worldwide. Bookings in the UK and Europe will be handled by Belgium-based Frontal Noize agency’s Pieter Blomme.
2012 finishes on a massive note for us: supporting the Omar Rodriguez Lopez project ‘Bosnian Rainbows’ at the Rosemount Hotel in Perth, on November 24. We have long been fans on Omar, right from ATD-I, through The Mars Volta and his massive catalog of solo-material. We are very honoured to share the stage with him and his awesome band.
